American Consumer Opinion Overview

Today, we are going to talk about American Consumer Opinion, also known as ACOP. Please don’t get this powerhouse research company confused with American Consumer Panels. They are to two different companies. If you haven’t read the review about American Consumer Panels, go here and read all about them.

Anyhow, American Consumer Opinion is a company that was created by Decision Analyst, in 1986. At first, it was a small mail survey panel at the time, which made it limited to the United States only.

By 1996, the membership of ACOP had grown to 20,000 members, and with the improvement of the internet, American Consumer Opinion had decided to go online. So, this company has been around for a pretty long time.

The best part about ACOP is that they are available to the entire world. So, in other words, no matter where you live, you can still join American Consumer Opinion for FREE. To become a member with them all you have to do is set aside about 5 minutes or less, and just register.

How Does American Consumer Panel Work?

ACOP offers screeners and surveys. A screener is a short survey that’s less than 20 questions, with a screener, you can receive either 5 to 50 points, or you may be entered into a monthly prize drawing. It all depends on what ACOP is offering at that time.

So, what’s the point with the screeners?

The screeners help ACOP determine, your area of expertise. During the screeners, it’s always best, to be honest, so, that ACOP can decide which topic of future surveys to include you in. You’ll be asked things like where you work, what’s your job responsibilities, etc.

On the other hand, their surveys, are a set of questions. Again, just like the screener, you’ll want to be as honest in your surveys as well. Your points with surveys will determine, based on the length. Shorter surveys you can earn up to 50 points, and with the longer surveys, you can receive anywhere from 50 to 50,000 points. The surveys will ask you questions like your experience, products you use, opinions about something, etc.

As any other survey site, the questions are usually simple but, the time you spend on a survey can vary. Besides, Swagbucks, American Consumer Opinion is another site that I enjoy using. However, you will not get rich completing any surveys online. The only part, I don’t like about American Consumer Opinion, it does take a while to receive surveys.

Does American Consumer Opinion Pay?

Indeed, they do! Here is how it works. You’ll complete a survey whenever it’s available. After completing a survey, ACOP will award you with a certain amount of points. Each point that you earn is worth one penny.

So, in other words, if you make 1000 points, you’ve earned $10.00. Not much, but, hey it’s free money. Besides, the surveys don’t take long at all, and most of them are pretty impressive if you like to participate in surveys.

From my experience, the points are collected and added to your point balance immediately. However, I have seen on the ACOP website that sometimes, your points can go into pending status and this can cause it to take a bit longer to update.

According, to ACOP this can be caused due to two reasons; either the survey is not finalized, or your earned points are currently being processed. Anyhow, American Consumer Opinion is a straightforward site to use. I enjoy their interface because, it’s not as clunky as most other survey sites, that I come across.

The Good And Valuable

  • You can donate your points to charity.
  • The option of Hyperwallet is available. Meaning they can distribute funds to over 170+ countries.
  • American Consumer Opinion can text you when a survey is available.
  • Membership is free.
  • Your information is used only for research purposes.
  • You will always receive points for surveys.
  • Let your voice be heard.
  • Usually, surveys are less than 10 minutes.
  • Available for 14 years old and up.

The Good And The Bad

The Bad And Ugly

  • You’ll have to wait 8-12 weeks for your payment to be received.
  • Surveys are received several times a year.
  • Both Hyperwallet and PayPal have fees if you would like to transfer your money to a bank account.
  • Survey points can appear as pending up to 8 weeks if a survey is still active or your points have not processed fully.
  • They are limited to one membership per household. Only the first household applicant will be accepted.

Who Is American Consumer Opinion For?

American Consumer Opinion is open to the entire world. To become a member of this survey site all you need to do is meet the requirement of being the age of 14 and older. So, anyone who loves taking surveys, and voicing their opinion, this is a great opportunity!

On the other hand, I don’t recommend this site to anyone who is looking to putting a considerable amount of extra money into your pocket; this will not work for you. Besides, surveys are only sent out a few times within the year, and you only earn one penny per point.

American Consumer OpinionTools & Training

Of course, this is a survey site so, no training or tools are needed. The website is so simple that even a 14-year-old can navigate the system. However, I thought you should know if you prefer to get paid via PayPal, it’s best that your PayPal email address, and your American Consumer Opinion sign-up email address both match, this will ensure that you receive your cash-outs when the time comes.

American Consumer Opinion Support

The support that ACOP offers is, as usual, they have a FAQ’s section, plus a help search bar, and if you need further help, you can fill out the form on their contact us page.

If You Have Any Questions American Consumer Opinion Will Be There To Help

American Consumer Opinion Price

It’s FREE to join, all it will cost you is your time; to fill out the registration form, which takes less than 5 minutes. When I signed up to ACOP, the form was a lot easier than i-say.com and mysurvey.com.

My Final Opinion Of American Consumer Opinion

I don’t know what it is but, I’ve always enjoyed taking surveys. If you enjoy expressing your thoughts to the world, then ACOP may be an option for you. However, it’s not like Swagbucks, where you can earn points in many ways, without having to wait throughout the year.

Regardless, American Consumer Opinion is a reputable company, and, they are legit. Regardless, they won’t put a huge chunk of change into your bank account. If you’re, looking for a way to potentially earn a full-time income online, I would suggest that you check out, what I do, it’s called Affiliate marketing. In fact, through the company that I learned how to build a successful website with, they are in fact the same way, I learned to make my first dollar online. Or you can go over to my articles that discuss work from home jobs and or make money online.
