Want to discover how you can come up with smart ways to create content for your blog? Creating content for a blog can be a bit challenging, especially when you’re a beginner.
The best part is after a ton of practice, creating content will get a whole heck of a lot easier. In other words, practice makes progress.
Why is creating content for your blog valuable? Simple, before you can make any amount of money online you’ll need an idea for your website which is your content. I do stress you’ll need a lot of it. Writing content on your blog should be a long term goal and not a short term opportunity.
Content Creation Is An Important Factor
Did you know that a blog with no content is almost guaranteed to fail? Your blog can only survive off of engagement, consistency, and high-quality content. I know this personally because, when I first started blogging, I stopped for 9 months. Furthermore, I lost all the website traffic, which is your audience, and I no longer made money, plus I lost all my rankings. When I started back up, I had to start all over basically.
To make a long story short, I don’t recommend stopping or quitting. Not being able to come up with content can be a barrier for some new blogger whether it’s stopping you from further content creation or paralyzing you from ever getting started.
At any rate, I am here to help. The challenge that I faced when I first decided to try this blogging thing was writing. I didn’t know how to write about the idea’s that I thought I had, let alone come up with the plans.
The best part is that I no longer have an issue with writer’s block. I have mastered this step in my blogging journey. So, I’ve decided to share with you many ways that you can create content for your blog.
Will You Be A Pro At First?
No! Here is a little secret that most expert bloggers won’t tell you. No one is, ever a pro when they start in this blogging game. Unless you’re just writing about any and everything, even the Gurus had to learn how to create content.
Above all, one thing that can help you become a blogging pro is to learn how to create content for your blog but, how do you do that? Worry none; I’m going to go over that with you in the next few paragraphs, hang in there.
What exactly is an idea? To create content, you need idea’s. An idea is what will spark your dreams to success. A view with a plan is what will help you build out your website going forward.
After you have plenty of idea’s, writing is more natural. By the way, your content creation will be articles that you focus on, within your niche.
On the other hand, if you lack in the idea’s area, you may never get started with your writing, and if you haven’t even started a blog, you may never take that leap of faith.
Whether you plan on starting your website or you plan on buying one of Dom’s pre-made niche sites where the idea’s are already created for you, or maybe you haven’t even started a website and need insights.
Regardless, this article was put together to help you get those fingers moving, and the idea juices flowing. So, let’s get down to business.
Ideas Are All Around Us
You’ve probably never realized that there are idea’s all around us. I get idea’s from going to the store, riding in the car, maybe at the doctor’s office, or while combing through social media. The point is that there are plenty of ways to get idea’s for your blog, in our everyday life.
These strategies that I’m about to mention aren’t made up plans. They’re real and have been proven to work for many bloggers, myself included.
By the way, a while back, I wrote a post about, “How I Find Products To Review?”, It seemed to help out about 119 people. Those aren’t alarming numbers but, it goes to show how content creation can be a challenge.
Anyhow, this is the same way I find how to create content.
#1. – Google Alerts –
I certainly had no idea about Google Alerts, what about you? Anyhow, Google alerts probably the least talked about Google product but, I must admit this is a hidden gem.
Moreover, you can set an alert within your niche and find out what people are talking about or what’s trending. The Google alerts discuss almost any topic, within the online space.
By the way, if you don’t know what a niche is, in simple terms, it’s a subject that your entire website will be about, and the idea’s you need to create will be your content or your articles that will keep your audience engaged.
Anyhow, Google alerts can be useful if you want to keep up to date on trends, discounts, coupons, jobs, products, services or the news.
#2. – Magazines –
Reading magazines can give you plenty of idea’s. Whether you plan on starting a mommy blog, recipe blog, gaming, fishing/camping blog, or a make online money blog.
At any rate, magazines are found in any of your local Walmart or grocery stores. So, consider picking one up and see what idea’s, you can come up with, or you can stand on the magazine aisle and skim through the book.
#3. – The Phone Book –
Ever since pay phones have been replaced, and the internet has taken over, phone books seem to be scarce. However, I still skim through the phone book, and I must admit I find exceptional services, products, and coupons in the phone book that can be used as idea’s.
#4. – Make Reading A Habit –
If you plan on starting a blog, it should be evident that you’re going to have to enjoy reading to a certain extent. Why? Because blogging isn’t easy and it does take a lot of learning. Not to mention a whole lot of reading.
Besides, after you have written your blog post, you’ll need to go back and read your own work. I mean if you don’t have the patience to read your own writings, I’m not sure how you expect anyone else to read it.
The point is, reading your own masterpiece, plus other blogs, images, or comments will help you with coming up with content.
#5. – Read Comments –
While I’m on the subject of reading, I might as well get this golden nugget out of the way. Reading other peoples comments on review sites, or YouTube channels can help you come up with instant idea’s.
#6. – Forums –
Online forums like Quora or Yahoo answers can help you understand what people would like to learn or need help with.
#7. – Pinterest –
This platform isn’t a social media site, it’s more of a search engine. In other words, go to Pinterest and type what you are looking for, in the Pinterest search bar.
By the way, Pinterest is my favorite platform, and us pinners have got to stick together. Follow me there, and I’ll be sure to follow you back. Happy Pinning!
#8.- Search Engines –
It doesn’t matter which search engine you use. Go to your favorite search engine and find idea’s. Whatever, your niche is, type it into the search bar, and start performing a technique called Alphabet soup.
Here’s An Alphabet Soup Technique Video From The Community
#9. – Spy On Your Competitors –
Yes, that’s right! Go spy on our competitors and find out what they’re writing about, of course, you never want to copy anyone else’s work because, you will get yourself into some heated situations but, you can come back and recreate the content in a better way.
Besides, there is nothing new under the sun. According to Mark Twain, no idea is original. So, with this being said you could research your competitor’s blog post to find out what you could do better. Can you add more images? Alternatively, add a YouTube video? Maybe add more value? I think you get the point. So, keep reading!
#10. – Read Your Emails –
Go through your emails. Like most people, even if your not a blogger, you’re email is probably full of idea’s. I’m sure you purchased that awesome Ninja blender and the company has continued to email you since then.
Oppositely you may have signed up to someone’s newsletter, and the newest kitchen aid is mentioned within the email. The point is, your email even has idea’s; you just have to get your idea juices flowing.
Before my blogging days started, I use to get annoyed by so many emails, in my inbox. However, now I have come to appreciate my email inbox being flooded with a gazillion emails because they can be a real blogging lifesaver.
#11. – Keyword Research –
Learn to search for keywords correctly, and you’ll be able to find plenty of idea’s for content. Keyword research is a technique that you will have to become successful with.
There are many keyword research tools out there that you can use. I use Jaaxy which is an excellent keyword tool; however, it’s a monthly fee.
If budget is a concern, there are keyword tools that you can check out such as Google Keyword tool, Keyword Shitter, Keywords Everywhere, Google Search console, and Bing webmaster tools. They all work pretty decent. I use some of them at times myself.
#12 YouTube –
Watch videos in your niche on YouTube, and you’ll hear the vlogger mention many different idea’s. Don’t forget to read through the comments that everyone has left. Someone is always bringing up a concern, product, or service — another smart way to find content idea’s.
#13. – Amazon –
On Amazon, there are millions of products being sold daily. If you go over to their site and look over the best-sellers, newly released and the different categories, you may find an idea that will spark your journey.
#14. – eBay –
Since Amazon tends to be the preferred online marketplace, eBay is forgotten about or put on the back burner. I prefer eBay over Amazon but, that is neither here nor there.
Nevertheless, eBay can also help you come with content idea’s that you probably would’ve never thought of in the first place.
#15. – Clickbank –
This marketplace, is a great way to come up with niche idea’s. All the products, within this marketplace, are digital; however, Clickbank has plenty of niche idea’s. By the way, Clickbank is free to join, so you can start making money with them too. Read this review for further Clickbank ideas.
Conclusion On How To Create Content For A Blog
Hopefully, by now, you have some idea’s on how you can create content for your blog. The whole idea behind content creation is to make sure you do your research, write quality content, be consistent, and provide value to your readers.
By the way, if you haven’t even gotten started with your blog, and you find yourself reading this article. You may be stalling your success, with fear of failure.
An expert is something that you don’t have to be to get started. I certainly was far from it. All you need to do is take action. Check out my #1 recommendation, and allow me to help you get started the right way.
Anyhow, if none of these is the issue, another suggestion would be just to write. Write your heart out, and keep writing. As mentioned earlier practice makes progression. Write even when you feel like your articles suck, or no one will read them. Just write!
With this in mind, I am no different from yourself; I make myself write almost every chance I get, which has helped me improve. My speed has gotten a lot faster, and my grammar has improved.
By the way, I use Grammarly, and this little free writing tool helps out a ton. Anyhow, constantly writing and improving doesn’t only work for me, it will do the same for you, as long as you take massive action and apply it.
This is why the first thing you’re told when starting a website is to pick a niche. And when choosing a niche your suppose to find a topic you would love to learn, a passion that you have, or hobby that you enjoy because, if you have no clue about a subject, it’s tough to come up with idea’s, and it’s even harder to write about something you don’t enjoy continuously.
