What is Qkids Teacher? Qkids is a platform that pays you to teach kids in China, English. The best part is as long as you live in the USA or Canada, you can work anywhere.
Traditionally, Qkids Teachers does require a degree. However, I have heard of people getting a job with Qkids without a teaching degree, and I’ve heard of others getting accepted as a teacher by their experience.

This job is suitable for anyone who loves to teach children. You are required to of course, have availability within your schedule. And, you must have a resume. I would suggest that you check your grammar on your resume before submitting it.
I, always use Grammarly; it’s a professional grammar tool that you can sign up to for free. I’ve even written a full review about it. Go here to read the review
Here are some other requirements that you must have
- A computer with a webcam is needed.
- Your headset must have a microphone attached.
- A stable internet connection is required. They prefer a cable connection but, it’s not needed.
- You minimum internet upload speed must meet 2Mbps. Also, download speed must be 4Mbps. Here is the site to test your speed. Check your internet speed here.
- You may need to connect your internet via an Ethernet internet connection.
Qkids Teacher Tools & Training
You’ll need an Ethernet cord while you’re in training, just in case Qkids ask you to show them your internet connection.
If hired or requested to take part in an interview, tools, and resources will be provided to you. In fact, before the meeting, Qkids will provide a few videos on how and what they will test you on.
Each of these videos has been reported to be 5 minutes long or less. The videos should show you what the classroom will be like and what to expect. So, I would take the time to get familiar, with the platform before your, interview.
Qkids Teacher Support
We chat app is an app that they will require you to download, once you’re hired. You’ll use this app to communicate with your contact person. There is also an email that you can contact for further support.
Qkids Interview And Hiring Process
According to Qkids Teacher website, you will need:
- All required materials
- Pass the Initial screening process
- Pass the Demo Interview #1
- Pass the Demo Interview #2
- Try your best in Trail classes
- Background Check
- Once all the above is processed and passed an official contract will be extended to you.
For the interview process, I found that you will have three interviews to complete. However, before the interview process, you need to complete the initial screening process.
Initial Screening
- You need your resume.
- Computer must pass speed specs.
- 1-2 minute video introducing yourself.
I suggest researching YouTube and watching other people’s Qkids Hiring videos to get an idea on what to record.
You’ll need to show your educational background, they also need to know where you live, and they need to know your experience of teaching children. Then you may have to tell a story or read a children’s book.
Interview #1
If you pass the Initial Screening, then you will go to Demo Interview #1
This interview will take place in the classroom. They will test your technology skills, tools and perform requirement checks. It is suggested to go into the classroom that is provided to you, to practice before you are required to complete your interview.
This interview is also a unique combination of both questions and demonstrating your teaching ability knowledge and skills.
Demo Interview #2
They will check your lighting, and background so makes sure your lighting and background are prepared for the interview. Besides, it would help if you always had the lightning and background of your work area prepared even before demo interview #2.
Who knows, Qkids may change their process, and they could check at any time.
Also, makes sure you are upbeat and acting like you are teaching the students, because, the interviewer is testing and recording your skills as you’re being interviewed.
NOTE: It has also been reported by current Qkids Teachers that their interview person, acted as if he or she was a child during the interview. Just go along with it and do your best. I know you can do this.
Trial Class
The fourth round is a trial class with real students.
You’ll have 2 to 5 trial classes before you are officially hired. This is not an interview stage; at this point, Qkids has considered you as a high potential so, do your very best.
During this trial, you’ll be paid, and you will receive family feedback for your trial classes. I would suggest using that feedback, and if there are any areas that you can improve, try to.
Your pay rate during the trail classes is $8.00 per lesson.
Qkids Teacher Hourly Wage
Qkids compensation can pay off well if you are a friendly and upbeat type of person. You’ll also need to stay engaged with the children as you teach. The pay is a minimum of $16.oo per hour but, if you receive the bonuses, Qkids Teachers can pay you up to $20.00 per hour.
Below you will find the breakdown.
Anyhow, you will be paid per class that you teach. Each classroom is 30 minutes long, and the flat fee for you to teach that 30-minute class is $8.00.
So, if you work for an entire hour, which will be two completed classes, you’ll be paid $16.00 per hour.
Then you can receive two bonuses: An attendance bonus and or a performance bonus.
An attendance bonus is earned by you teaching more than 15 classes in a week. Once you have taught more than 15 classes in a week, you will get a bonus of $1.00 per class.
Remember the classes are all 30 minutes long, so this additional $1.00 per class can add up.
For example: If you were to teach two classes within that hour, you would be paid a $2.00 per hour, which raises your total hourly pay up to $18.00 per hour now.
The second bonus is for your performance. You can earn a performance bonus for each class. Once again, the classrooms are 30 minutes per class, so you would receive a $1.00 bonus per class, that you qualify for this bonus. If you were to qualify for the performance bonus by the hour, this could increase your overall hourly wage.
The performance bonus is based on family feedback. Other Qkids Teachers have mentioned, that as long as you are doing well, as a teacher overall, this bonus is not hard to receive. So, stay upbeat and engaged.
My Final Opinion Of Qkids Teacher
By now you should have a more in-depth understanding of what is Qkids Teacher? This job is a legit opportunity, and you can work from the comfort of your home.
The only downside that I see is the contract can be a short term opportunity unless you are offered the extension.
Anyhow, some of you may be concerned that you won’t be hired because you don’t have experience or a degree. My only suggestions is to apply anyways if this is a job that you’re interested in. The worst response that Qkids can give you is a “NO.”
Regardless, It’s no big deal, and there are plenty of other opportunities out there. I’ve been hired to jobs where I didn’t meet the requirements what so ever but, I was still hired. All you can do is try.
